My name is Ruby Yesutor Dogbatsey, a beneficiary of the GESU Fund Scholarship for my four years on KNUST Campus.
I am writing to express my gratitude for this scholarship I received which helped me in pursuing my dreams of achieving a degree that I thought was impossible, looking at where I am coming from.
I was part of the students chosen by the KNUST lessendowed initiative in 2019. I was so excited upon hearing the news, however, I did not have the funds to pay for it. I was initially apprehensive and did not want to accept the offer of admission because of the cost and the financial burden it would place on me and my family, but the GESU Fund scholarship changed my life entirely, affording me the chance to attend University without worrying at least about my tuition fee for each academic year.
Without the GESU Fund Scholarship, I doubt I would have been able to have a tertiary education. Thanks to God and the scholarship, I have been able to complete my undergraduate degree and meet wonderful people and I hope that I will blossom into a great personality that will serve humanity and also contribute to the development of the country and the world at large.
I have overcome numerous challenges, both academically and financially, in the pursuit of my degree. Still, the support and guidance I received from people like Rev. Francis Edzorna Doe, the then GESAM National Vice Chaplain, Rev. Johannes Ami who was also the then Campus Pastor of GESAM KNUST, and Mrs. Duchess Bensah have inspired me to always believe in myself and never give up on my dreams.
Today, I am a proud recipient of a University degree, and I cannot thank the GESU Fund enough for making this possible. The scholarship has opened doors for me that I previously thought were beyond me, provided me with countless opportunities and has served as a stepping stone to greater heights and achievements.
I am grateful for the generosity of the GESU Fund Scholarship and the amazing people who made it possible. This scholarship has helped me overcome my doubts and fears, and I pray that it inspires other young people like me to pursue their dreams and receive the help they need regardless of their financial background.
To conclude, the GESU Fund Scholarship is more than just financial aid. It is a potent instrument for bringing about change in people’s lives, giving them hope and motivation, and helping them believe in themselves. Thank you and God bless you all. I implore anyone who can support this scholarship to do so to aid as many students as possible in realizing their academic dreams in life.
